CHIANG RAI " BLUE HILLS ON THE HORIZON "

Chiang Rai is the northernmost province of Thailand, located 785 kms. from Bangkok and 580 meters above sea level. Chiang Rai was long isolated from most of Thailand, affording the province its unique culture, fond especially in the ancient town of Chiangsaen or Sob Ruang (Golden Triangle). The province is bordered by Myanmar (Burma) and Laos, and various hilltribes, Akha, Yao and Lahu found here are still relatively untouched by civilzation. For those more interested in the natural beauty of Chiang Rai, jungle trekking is recommended along various trails which criss-cross the provimce's mountains.
